Fees for Services

Notaries are legal services providers who charge by the fee for service model.  Each person requiring legal services has specific and sometimes complex needs.  While some Notaries give estimates, that estimate may change depending on a wide variety of factors.

A Notary, who recognizes that an estimate for fees is inaccurate must, at the earliest time, communicate the change in fees and the reason for the change. If this communication is verbal, the expectation is that the Notary will provide a written, updated, estimate at the earliest opportunity.

Notaries also routinely charge disbursements. These are the costs (both actual and estimated) that a Notary will incur in completing a transaction.  Notaries are expected to provide a dated, detailed statement of adjustments including all of the actual disbursements.
