If you are looking for a Will, Indefeasible Title, or other document that was prepared by a Notary who has since retired please note the following.  Notary files are subject to retention and destruction timelines established by the Rules as follows:

1. Notarizations – 2 years from date of issue. 
2. Real Property transactions (Buying of selling a property)- 10 years from transaction.
3. Other contracts/ conveyances – 10 years.
4. Personal Planning/Wills Files- 10 years past the date of Probate.

If the document you are requesting is past the retention period it is most likely that the document has been destroyed.

Provide as much information as possible. The SNPBC will make our best effort to an attempt to locate the document. 

Any information protected by privacy legislation will not be shared with the requestor.
